What’s working

Your output held to the end.

From last outing’s focus

Last outing’s focus was Keep Control Late. No practice count came back on that setup. This time late pace held and soft backhands rose to 44%, so we're moving on. Soft backhand touch is next — Wall Reset Touch. Bring back a count from this practice setup; we’ll look at soft backhand share next outing.

Your late game held, so now the next practice focus is kitchen touch. Soft backhand touch rose to 44%. One focus: soft backhand touch with Wall Reset Touch. Soft backhand share was 44% this outing.

Wall Reset Touch

Prescription: 3 sets, stopping each set at 12 controlled contacts or the first loss of control.

The setup

Stand 5 to 6 feet from a wall and mark a low target area.

  1. Feed gently into the lower target.
  2. Absorb the return with a short motion.
  3. Keep the ball close enough to continue without chasing.

Count it · Player / coach check

Count completed 12-contact sets.

Step farther from the wall or add left-right targets, one change at a time.

Next check

What will your next practice show?

Keep the setup the same and bring back your count. Soft backhand share next outing — beat 44% at the same setup.

Where your game
is going

Next block, one thing: Keep Control Late (reset, then choose the next ball). Count your Keep Control Late rallies at practice. Then the Watch checks your last game against your first. Number to beat: 100%, last outing's bar (tonight: 71%). Your six-week league goal started Sep 1, so the window has closed — review what stuck.

Since May you take your backhand about twice as often (6.5% of swings then, ~13% now), and you're dinking more, 43% soft on Oct 26 vs 32% May 6. Your finish was the September problem and it moved: 92% late pace Sep 14, 144% Sep 21, 97% Oct 5, 116% Oct 19, 71% Oct 26, a bigger fade. The backhand dink is what's stuck: 29%, 44%, 34%, 46%, 52%. And two drills were assigned with no practice count back yet.
